Our Domain
Our castle is a heritage site, that is obvious. But have you ever really experienced the power of the 150-year-old trees all around the domain?
It doesn’t matter what you believe or not.
Standing next to such a friendly giant and sharing a couple of breaths, makes you aware of a world where time travels at a different pace. It makes you feel relevant and irrelevant at the same time.
It is hard to capture this magical place in words. The Heerlijckyt is a domain to experience for yourself. Welcome.
What is where?
Our Food
Vegetable-based, healthy, and so very very yummy. Famous for ages, and according to some guests the number one thing to look forward to when they come here.
Almost two decades ago, we started with our veggie lunches long before this was a hype, so we have quite some experience with vegetable cooking.
Today, all meals are vegetarian, but if you really can’t miss some fish or meat, you can order organic meat or fish beforehand. We changed the standards, because we think this is what the world needs …

Our Homemakers
We have a heart for homemaking and caretaking. And we are always curious about why you are.
Full of energy and sensitive to uplifting others, she is the power axis of this place. With an eagle eye view, she manages the daily and long term goals. She dreams things and can make them happen. Eager to try out something new, you may meet her as a participant in one of our BodyHeartSoul programs.
Staying calm while the world is spinning around, Dirk makes sure that all utilities are working perfectly. He’s the man who sees what our guests need and helps the team work more smoothly.
This handyman owns a self-built tiny house and a huge heart.
With an open heart and warm interest in the ‘who’ of you, Dean welcomes everybody in the castle as if it is was their own house. Dean is also in charge of the Celebrating Life events. A perfect fit, with their great eye for detail and sensitivity to the beauty of it all … At night, Dean returns to their tiny house to cuddle with their cat or to enjoy another book.
She’ll be welcoming you with her ever glowing light. You can count on her, until the day turns to night.
Lover of conversations and wonderful words, she helps you retrieve magical worlds. Jill is soft and powerful just like her golden dog, Chispa.

If you are welcomed by this creative jack-of-all-trades, there's a good chance that laughter will echo in the castle. Very engaged and accurate, she makes sure that you will get everything you need to achieve the purpose of your stay - and that you pay 😉 A special caretaker!
This creative bon vivant brings a positive vibe into the castle. When he’s not working as your evening host or as one of the housekeepers, you can find him playing music in the salon. Having a singer-songwriter as a team member is a real treat indeed.
Gracefully gliding over the pond, our majestic swan add sheer beauty to our domain. Besides that, their other main focus is to attract an elegant date.
She’s been chopping onions nearly since the start of the Heerlijckyt, so Anja is like the mother of our homemakers team. With her big heart and caring nature, the castle kitchen has become a central hotspot for warm talks. And of course … she is a most wonderful cook!
This no-nonsense cook brings an eastern breeze into the kitchen. Her love for Japan can be tasted in her culinary creations on some days. All the other days, her food is equally delicious and surprising. She loves cats, the colour black and good music.
Patrick is always ready to fix the visible and invisible. Talking with him feels like a breeze of peaceful forest air comes over you, he’s a natural healer. He takes care of the computer network and is present as one of the caretakers when the office lights go out …
Dedicated to the Heerlijckyt since the beginning of times, Irena is a superpower who makes it a personal mission that the rooms, venues and common areas are perfectly clean. She’s a caring mother for her kids and her dogs. She has the most contagious laughter and straightforward humour, be warned!
Peacefully grazing and mindfully chewing, donkeys have been present since the very beginning of the Heerlijckyt. The 3 donkeys that are part of our team right now are Fien, Trees & Frans.
Solid & chill sales member, with a eye for overview. Also a permanent resident at our beautiful domain. Which suits him perfectly, being a keen walker.
Fast and fierce, Lien takes care of group bookings and makes sure that everything is organised in the best way possible. An expert in sales service, she connects our customers to our cosy castle. This girl is on fire!
This well-balanced connector makes sure that every group booking is handled with a personal touch. She’s always in for a heartfelt hug, or a chat about life, her family and her own practice.
Ever active, these ducks are eager to accompany our guests to the reception. They form a team on their own, self-managing and full of dedication.
As Founding Mother of the Heerlijckyt, Annemie is a mentor, coach and inspirational figure to all of us. Full of dedication & fond of people. When she’s not at the Heerlijckyt, there’s a good chance that she’s hiking in the mountains, dancing to the moon or fuelling her BodyHeartSoul wisdom.
Our Castle
Resplendent with ancient beauty, this medieval castle is the heart of our domain. The place where everyone comes together to meet & eat, to share & care.
Something out of a fairy tale with knights in armour and princesses on balconies. One big difference though… we don’t do posh anymore. This castle feels like home. Come in, kick off your shoes, crash on the couch, read a book, or start a good conversation. Just be you.
Our Foundation
We want to realise so much: a food forest, mental well-being programs, new trees for future generations, BodyHeartSoul Leadership experiments, …
The list is too long and our time too short. Thank God a foundation has been set up to fuel all these projects: The Village and the Common Fields of Grace.
